The Former Supreme Court Area

The Former Supreme Court is adjacent to popular City Hall building. City Hall building is a national monument gazetted on 14 February1992. It can be found in front of the historical Padang. Show here is to share a group of beautiful old picture post card in this area.

Former City Hall is municipality building during colony time, during Japanese occupation its was a converted to administration office of invaded Japanese force. After Singapore independent, it is becoming a more important Government administration office. most of the importance Ministry offices was there included foreign affair department. It's witnessed the City day ceremony and Singapore declared independent.



The Padang is surrounded by several important landmarks, which include Saint Andrew Cathedral, City Hall, Singapore Cricket Club beside formal Supreme Court.


Due to its prime location and historical significance, it has been used as a venue for a many great events, including 1945 Japanese surrender to British after end of WWll and republic first ever National Day Parade being held there in 1966, Singapore's Golden Jubilee Year in 2015, and in 2019 it honouring the bicentennial anniversary since the founding of modern Singapore in 1819.
